What do you think of Christian youth groups playing paintball? Can you think of alternative activities?

Ok, so paintball and laser tag both involve shooting at each other with guns to "win." As Christians, shouldn't we be discouraging violence? My church's youth group leader sees no problem with shooting games like paintball. First, how do you feel about it, and second, what are some good alternative activities? Thanks!
I never said it was sinful to be violent. In fact, I don't believe I mentioned the word "sin" at all. Actually, I am talking about Jesus' concept of "turning the other cheek." He said "blessed are the peacemakers" and never condoned taking up arms.

I'm simply trying to figure out why paintball, which is a violent activity that uses guns, or "markers," is being held up as such a great activity for Christian youth groups.

Personallly, I think paintball is a fine game, I have friends who played it when we were in high school. I just don't think that it should be a Christian-centered activity, and I'm trying to figure out alternatives for our youth group.

to some it may be seen as violence, however if people see it as just a game and not as "going round shotting people to hurt them" its not much harm. it is really good team building exercise however not if your in opposit groups. Tajfel a famouse psychologist state that even the mere knologe of another group is enoght to create discrimination and prejudces.

soo its a tricky one, as christians it would be wrong to create discrimination against others, however it is human nature and cnt be help.

why don't you try something non competivie like water sports or horse riding?
