Where can I get a cheap paintball sniper rifle?
My friend is having a huge paintball fight at his land (106 acres) and I love to snipe. I don’t currently own a paintball gun and I want to make the best choice so if anyone can help my budget is 0-225$. (depending on the gun maby more)
Also if there is a cheap sidearm that would be pretty cool also.
Really any paintball gun can be used to “snipe,” just they all don’t LOOK like a sniper rifle. Guns that do resemble sniper rifles aren’t really worth the money, imo, because you’re paying for looks and not performance. And to crush the myth before it reaches you, longer barrels in paintball are a great disadvantage – barrels should never exceed 16″, for a couple reasons which i won’t get into right now.
Any Tippmann with a good aftermarket barrel will fit your needs and can cost less than $200. Cheapest example would be a Tippmann 98 Custom with a J&J Ceramic barrel or CP Classic (1-piece) barrel. Or get the Tippmann A-5 w/ same barrel choices, as the A-5 comes stock with a Cyclone Feed, meaning you’ll be able to shoot a little faster if need be.
Sidearms aren’t any cheaper than regular guns, unfortunately. You can probably find some in the $100 range but paintball pistols haven’t been done justice lately. Older pistols, most of which were actually pumps, were much better.
Tippmann is supposedly releasing a pistol but there’s no ETA on it. Kingman recently released a line of sidearms that are more designed for military/police training but anyone can buy them. Unfortunately, they don’t use standard paintballs (.68 caliber), they use smaller ones (.43). Tiberius has a decent pistol available now but it’s overpriced, imo.
