Exalt Developments Vitamin O Paintball Oil Review by HustlePaintball.com
How to Sustain a Paintball Gun - Lengthen the Existence of Your Paintball Marker
Paintball gun's are complicated pieces of kit, and are created up of lots of various elements all working together to produce the end result, which need to be fun, unless you have been hit lots of times in that game.
Due to the fact they are complex bits of kit, there are a lot of possible difficulties that can arise if you do not retain your paintball marker effectively. So the suggestions below if put in action will help you lengthen the existence of your paintball gun.
1) Make certain you squeegee your paintball gun totally following each recreation. It still amazes me how much dirt and grime you can get down your barrel when you are jumping around the field like a lunatic. So it is often a excellent idea to squeegee to get rid of all of the dirt. Lichfield Paintballing Also make positive that if a paintball breaks in your barrel that you unscrew it completely and squeegee it from both ends, as drying lumps of paint in your barrel is never excellent for accuracy and performance.
2) If you play on a particularly wet day then it is a excellent notion to store your guns upright. This is to let all of the moisture rise out of the gun. If your guns components are created of metal, which most are, then a build up of moisture for a lengthy time will tremendously improve the speed of rusting in your gun, which is not very good for your paintball markers health.
three) Make positive that you oil the hammer of your paintball marker soon after every game. The hammer is 1 of the most crucial parts of your paintball marker due to the fact of its function in pushing the paintball down the barrel at high pace. Most metal objects that are movable require to be lubricated frequently and the hammer is no various, which is why it is a great thought to apply oil after each recreation, to make certain every thing runs smoothly for longer.
The lifestyle of a paintball marker will significantly depend on how well you look right after it, so if you follow the suggestions in this article on how to retain your paintball gun, and read the manufacturer guidelines that come with your marker, this really should make certain you are not going to be buying an additional paintball gun anytime soon.

What is Paintball Gun Oil? What does it do?
I just bought a brand new paintball set, a Spyder Victor and and bunch of other stuff. And it came with a bottle of Gun Oil, I was just wondering what it is, what I should do with it, do I apply it right away, and where?
Please remember that I just started paintballing, so I wont know what most parts my gun are called.
Alright, well paintball gun oil is basically the same thing as CLP or gun oil you'd use on a real firearm. It lubricates the internals of the paintball gun so that they move back and fourth smoothly, much like oil in an engine. Without oil, your marker may perform less efficiently or even break.
Paintball marker oil is essential to keeping your marker running.
You should apply a light coat of oil on the marker every few weeks, or about every 5 uses. This can take a long time if you completely take apart the marker and oil everything, or it can only take a few minutes. It is also a great idea to apply a coat right now, because you never know how long the gun was sitting in its packaging before you bought it. it may be a little dry.
I know you arent used to paintball terminology, so the best way for me to describe how you oil it is this:
Inside your paintball gun, (once you take it apart) you will notice that in different locations throughout the gun there are either black or white/clear plastic rings. These are call "O-Rings" and they have a number of purposes.
They prevent friction and overheating on mechanical parts such as the Bolt by preventing metal from rubbing against metal.
They also help keep C02/Nitrogen/Compressed air from leaking out of the gun during use.
If the O-Rings are not lubricated properly, they will dry up, crack, and you will need to replace them. They are very cheap and its not a huge hassle to do so, but its better to maintain them from the get-go.
The O-Rings are your primary concern when oiling your paintgun. Oil helps the O-rings to not crack and break. There should be anywhere from a half a dozen, to over a dozen of these on your paintball gun depending on what kind of marker you have. (Im not familiar with the internals of a Spyder Victor)
You may be nervous about taking your marker apart, but remember that these guns are meant to be "Field Stripped" in a rush, so this consideration has been taken into account throughout developement. As long as you can remember generally what goes where, you will be fine and will be able to put it back together. Every marker also comes with a parts diagram, so if you need to know where something goes, or if you lose something, refer to that to find out what part you need to re-order.
If you want an example, this is how i oil my Tippmanns:
Lay out a clean, white towel on an even surface.
Start taking the gun apart, laying each piece you take off the gun on the towel from left to right. This helps you keep track of your progress and what order to put things back together in.
Once the internals and everything is out of the gun, and you are left with just a hollowed out gun body, start wiping off the parts for dirt.
Once the dirt is off, start oiling. Primarily O-rings, but i like to oil everything anyway. metal, springs, everything.
After im done oiling everything, i'll start to re-assemble the gun. Make sure you take your time in putting it back together, so as to not lose anything.
Once the gun is back together, i'll do a little function test to make sure the trigger works, and look it over for anything i may have missed.
This whole process takes me about a half hour to completely clean it, but if you want to just do a quick clean, then it might only take 5 minutes.
What i would suggest is that you get acquainted and comfortable with the gun first. mess around with it and get used to taking it apart.
AS A SIDE NOTE, IT IS IMPORTANT TO KNOW THAT THERE ARE SOME PARTS OF THE GUN THAT ARE NOT MEANT TO BE TAKEN APART, SUCH AS THE GAS REGULATOR. DURING DIS-ASSEMBLY, YOU WILL REGONIZE THESE PARTS BECAUSE THEY WILL BE ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE TO TAKE APART. IF YOU'RE HAVING DIFFICULTY DIS-ASSEMBLING SOMETHING, JUST LEAVE IT BE.
You should not need any more than 2 or 3 allen keys/screwdrivers to maintain your gun.
Once you are out of oil, any firearm oil that you can buy in a store will suffice. No need to get something thats $20 a bottle, but dont buy vegetable oil, either.
If ya need any more information of have any more questions, let me know and i'll be glad to help.
Good luck.
EDIT: After researching what the following commentor wrote, it seems i was wrong. (Sorry)
Apparently it is better to buy oil that is specifically designed for paintball guns - as products such as Rem oil turn O-rings mushy - Though i have been using any oil i have had available at the time for the last 5 years, and have never had a single problem. Everything else about the physical cleaning of the gun, however, was correct.
