Paintball: A New Way to Think About Bachelor Parties
Before a negative impression is left in your mind, think about it this way. What could be more fun than a paintball bachelor party ? It is not that far out of an idea.
Before I started to research this subject I came across a newspaper article in the local paper entitled "Not your usual bachelor party". Peaking my interest I began reading about the article. Forming an early opinion I immediately though oh another story about the wild bachelor. If you are over the age of 12 you know that the average bachelor party consists of booze and strippers and more strippers (For we women how boring) I was not prepared to read a story about paintball.
Do I have your attention, now? Alright I do. The article states there should be only two rules during the game. Rule number one: The Bridegroom's party always wins. Rule number two: Never let the Bridegroom's party know they are being allowed to win. Now, this sounds like a fun bachelor party. Groom, you can bring along your in-laws and a few people would love to shoot with your strategic tactical marker. And take out all your aggression and pre-wedding nerves out on them. An added benefit would be, the bride, not making your life miserable because you got drunk and made a fool out of yourself during the party.
There are now Paintball field owners who are offering bachelor parties as a catered affair. They will provide lunch so you can make a day out of it. This is becoming more and more popular as the idea spreads.
In England the idea is a hit. Bachelor parties are known as Stag parties. Nottingham is the most popular location for the English stag. Robin Hood made this area famous. The idea is to dress in camouflage and hide in the forest ( what is left of Sherwood Forest) Each year brings with it record attendance. Nottingham is noted for stag and hen (women) parties. Because of the already famous location for these affairs the paintball party has become explosive. On one recent weekend over 1,000 people gathered to play paintball. Direct Sally Sanders expects players to blast through 15 million paintballs this year alone. She says" Not all guys want to drink themselves silly these days. But people still want to come to Nottingham for their stag partied and we are going to take advantage of that." Stag weekend organizers "Off Limits", say it has put more than 4,000 people through paintball games this year alone. Office manager Steve Lover says that was "Significantly more than previous years".
Another paintball company in Nottingham , The Paintball Jungle, says the sport is gaining mainstream acceptance. People no longer see the sport as extreme and they believe the sport is a great way of having fun. A few of the "hen" groups try the sport but paintball is dominated by males. As a BBC reporter exclaimed after playing game," It's fun because you get to shoot people without all the danger. It beats joining the army.

Is the Tippmann US Army Paintball Alpha Black Tactical a good choice of gun to buy?
I want a nice paintball gun that isn't too expensive but one that won't break and has good reviews. Does anyone have any feedback of this paintball gun?
Yes - the US Army paintball guns are very good. Tippmann designed and produces these guns under the US Army name. There are based internally on the Tippmann 98. The 98 is a favorite rental gun everywhere due to the ease of use, cleaning and overall durability of the paintball marker. The Alpha Bacl Tactical is a good marker to start out because like the 98, it is upgradable and can grow with you as your interest and knowledge grows.
Tippmann will be replacing the US Army Alpha Black (non-tactical) with the US Army Carver One. The Alpha Black Tactical will still be produced in the semi-auto, camo and egrip models. The Carver One is slightly different cosmetically and we sell for $99 - its release date is around the 1-2 week in March so keep an eye out.
