New to paintball, please answer my newbie questions!?
Okay so I read that an eye helps not chop paintballs in half. I'm not having this problem with my brass eagle avenger, does it have an eye, and do you need an eye on a semi-auto paintball gun? Also what upgrades can I buy for a BE avenger straight out of the box, what loader should I get (nothing fancy, MY eyes work fine I just need it to drop paintballs into the gun without having to attack the loader with scotch tape)? Is there a really good 100-300 dollar gun I should invest in? And finally, how do I take it apart? Do I need to clean it, and if so how should I do that?
I would suggest purchasing any Smart Parts marker, most notably the Ion. It is cheap, fast, reliable, and very accurate. Any marker by Brass Eagle sucks, so ditch it as soon as possible. Eyes are only used in fast shooting markers, the eye detects if the paintball is in the chamber or not and makes the bolt respond accordingly. You do not NEED eyes for a semi-auto marker, you only need them if you are going to be shooting fast, in which case you would need a decent loader. A cheap loader would be something like a Reloader by Empire. They run for about $40-ish. You should clean your marker before and after every time you play. Refer to your marker's manual to disassemble your marker. Wipe the entire marker down with a wet rag or paper towel to clean away any paint, dirt, or whatever may be there. Do the same with the internal pieces. Lubricate the internals, and reassemble the marker. Once you have done that, gas up the marker and fire it off a few times to move the lube around.
